Dogsledding
Dog sledding is one of the extra special winter activities you'll find on Minnesota's Gunflint Trail. The thrill of an eager team of dogs pulling you through the pine and aspen forest and whisking you across frozen lakes is an adventure you'll never forget. (For any of the mushing adventures described below, be sure to call ahead for reservations; capacity is limited and this is a very popular activity.)
Boundary Country Adventures
Features a variety of guided mushing expeditions. You learn about dog sledding by driving your own sled. Trips range from one to six days, with overnights in B&B, cabins and yurts. Call (800) 322-8327 for more information.

With a long tradition of dog sledding, Gunflint Lodge offers rides of various length, from a one-hour taste to a full day ride with a trail lunch. Mushers take out two guests at a time with a team of 10 to 12 huskies. On day-long trips, guests who are up to the challenge often take a turn at mushing. For reservations call (800) 328-3325.
